Inspiring the Future of AR/VR at a National Science Center

Client: The Virtual Science Center & The Lawrence Hall of Science at UC Berkeley

The Goal

To produce a five-episode documentary series for "Reinventing Reality," a major traveling science center exhibit focused on the future of AR and VR technology. The series was designed to inspire visitors by showcasing a diverse group of working professionals from world-leading companies in the field.

My Role

As the Director of Photography and Video Editor for the series, I was responsible for capturing broadcast-quality footage and crafting the final narrative for all five episodes. My role included:

  • Production: Traveling to high-profile locations, including Microsoft's headquarters in Seattle and JPL in Pasadena, to film interviews and b-roll.

  • Technical Execution: Managing all on-location filming, lighting, and audio recording to ensure a polished final product.

  • Post-Production: Editing the complete five-episode series that would be displayed in the museum exhibit.

The Impact

The documentary series was the centerpiece of a major exhibit, telling the story of innovation to thousands of visitors across North America.

  • Anchored an International Traveling Exhibit: The videos were a core component of the "Reinventing Reality" exhibit which traveled to multiple prestigious venues, including:

    • Buffalo Museum of Science (Buffalo, NY)

    • Science North (Sudbury, ON, Canada)

    • Lawrence Hall of Science (Berkeley, CA)

  • Featured World-Class Innovators: The series included interviews with professionals from industry giants such as Microsoft, ILM (Industrial Light & Magic), NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL), and National Geographic.

  • Showcased High-Level Production Capability: The project demonstrates the ability to create high-quality content suitable for a national touring exhibit and trusted by multiple globally recognized brands.
